Newman

We came to know about the FBRN (that's French Bulldog Rescue Network) through Chris's old boss's wife - specifically about Newman. We applied to adopt this dog and it was really intense. A representative from the Network came to our house to inspect it, and everything. We kind of thought we were a shoe-in, because we had an inside connection. Well, we found out that someone in St. Louis will be adopting Newman. =( So, apparently, it was very competitive. (Haha.) We still probably want to get another dog at some point, but who knows when that will be. I just think it is hilarious/telling, we got so into this, and I really assumed this dog would be ours. I was clearly wrong. I'm sure it's for the best!

One of these is not like the other

Notice anything about the photo below? The trashcans in particular? On Trash Day, Chris & I put our trash out on the curb like the rest of the people in the cove. It was then that we discovered, I guess there is some company that everybody uses. I think we need to call them so we can get a matching trashcan!

The green one is ours, by the way.

Check out this video that contains the opening credits of Weeds. (They stopped using this for the opening credits this season.)

Shredding like crazy

(That's SHREDding, not SHEDding.) One of Lily's things that she does is secretly get into the bathroom while we're not looking, and shreds the toilet paper to bits. I'm not sure why she does this. Maybe she likes the rolling motion of the toilet paper or just the naughtiness of it. A lot of times we don't discover it until too late. I try to salvage the TP and use it (is that gross?), but it is NOT easy!

Home Sweet Home

"...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

Chris & I purchased our first home the day I flew home for the
wedding. We're very excited about it, but we're realizing it's a ton
of work! When we moved in after the wedding, the only furniture we had
was his bed, dresser, and nightstand. After a full week we are still
eating standing up, but we hope to resolve that by the end of this
week. It's nice to come home to my family even if we don't have much.

Corfu

I just could not keep my eyes open for this pic on the beach, it was so sunny!

A view down an Old Town street.

Chris on our walk back to the ship.

Me on some steps.

Quite a walk from the dock into town. Saw the old and new fortresses
and "Corfu Town" which has all the little walking streets and shops.
This town is not like Santorini or Mykonos, all the buildings aren't
painted white with blue. I was asking Chris why this was and he
thought it had to do with all the other influences on the town over
the years, British, French, Venetian.

Made our way to the bus stop and took a bus to the beach. It was about
a 30 minute bus-ride and we were dropped off right in front of a nice
hotel, in the Dassia area. Walked through the hotel, spent an hour
reading on the beach, took the bus back.

Walked through Corfu Town, Old Town, again on our way back to the
ship. Enjoyed the pool before dinner.

Katakolon

Very relaxing day. Stayed in town all day - opted not to go to
Olympia. Did plenty of window shopping, ate lunch by the water. Total
chill day. Enjoyed the pool back on the boat, dinner, and a flight of
wine in the Piazza.

Photos:
Watching a restaurant bring in a catch of the day.
The cafes lined up a long the water (where we ate lunch).
Us in front of the ship.
